February, 2008
Greetings from the President

As our area's premier organization for graphic artists, designers, illustrators, and others in business in the creative and communications arts, the Guild's workshop meetings at the Rock Salt Seafood Grill create a great space for long-time professional friends and colleagues to enjoy good food and drink, foster relationships and connections, and learn from inspiring speakers and one another.

So if there's someone you've been thinking would be a perfect addition to the Guild, please consider bringing a guest to an upcoming meeting. And be sure to alert Colleen Maloney, membership, or Kim Bateman, our chapter administrator,  so we can make your guests as welcome as possible.

We've got some terrific programs lined up. Your hardworking Board of Directors, as I write this, are booking some remarkable speakers for 2008. Check back often to this website to be sure you've got the latest information, or sign up for the enews.

Warm regards,
Sara Chapman

SPGA/Seattle Chapter Graphic Artists Guild hires new Chapter Administrator

Please meet Kim Bateman, our new SPGA/Seattle Chapter Administrator. Kim will be helping publicize our activities, answering queries, and keeping things running smoothly.

Kim is an artist (a painter working in oils and acrylics) and a writer. Growing up she lived in two countries, four states, attended four grade schools, one junior high and two high schools. She moved to Seattle in 1981 to attend graduate school at the University of Washington. She homeschooled two children and now lives in Shoreline with her husband, son, a practically perfect dog and a very disturbed cat.

Welcome, Kim!
