Secrets of a Great Portfolio Web-site
A comprehensive workshop (delicious lunch included)
Wed., September 30, 11:30am
Last Wed. of the month
Photographers, designers, illustrators, or any professionals who create for a living know that showing your work is the key to getting new work. A great portfolio website can be the best way to make sure your creativity is seen by the world. What makes a great portfolio website? What features does it need to have? How can you get the most people to view your portfolio?
Dan Smith, principal of Heated Media (http://www.heatedmedia.com), marketing consultant and web designer, makes sure websites perform as a marketing tool. With a background in photography, print design, branding and Flash animation, he understands the importance of presenting past achievements in a way that lets the work speak for itself.
In this comprehensive workshop Dan will cover personal marketing strategies, audience targeting, Flash vs. HTML/CSS, Wordpress and other content management systems, web standards, saving photos for web viewing, and search engine optimization (how to get found on Google). You’ll learn how to plan, create and promote an effective, professional-quality portfolio website. If showcasing your work is important to your success, this workshop is for you.
