JOB ANNOUNCEMENT GUIDELINES

Many thanks for inquiring about our job announcements.

We send out job announcements (both project and salary) to our membership as the announcements arrive to via e-mail. There is no fee involved. The SPGA/Seattle Chapter of the Graphic Artist Guild has approx. 170 members. Our diverse membership has allowed for a very high success percentage in filling job announcements (over 90%).

Here are some suggested guidelines for compiling your job announcement.
1. Provide complete and full contact information: Business Name, Contact Name, Address, Phone, Fax, URL, and of course e-mail address, where those interested might respond. And list your preference of how you want them to respond.

2. Provide as detail as possible job and/or project description. If you can, try to cover all aspects of what you desire and see if you can include:
a. hours or deadline involved
b. duties involved
c. min. work experience required
d. benefits or perks (if any)

3. Budget/Salary range should be supplied if predetermined. If you list the job DOE be very clear on the work experience you are desiring and any flexibility you might have in that regard.

4. State a deadline that interested parties need to respond by. This helps in determining if your job announcement is effective or required review and revamping.

Tips for reviewing artists.

While resumes can provide an outline of work experience, a graphic artist typically lets their work speak for them. We suggest you review all applicant's portfolios and/or URLs to determine if their style and expertise is what you desire and suitable for your needs. While we suggest that you schedule a day to receive and review artistås portfolios and URLs it is not a requirement of the job announcement.

Again, these are only suggestions. Feel free to submit your job announcement in any form you desire and it will be e-mailed to our membership (usually within 24 hours).

Many Thanks,
